    Academics 学术

    The professors here don't care about their students. Sure, they all want us to theoretically learn the material, but they don't really try to help. They think that a 'C' is okay to give to a hardworking student because "it's passing", but they fail to realize what we're all really here for: TO GET JOBS. News flash! Getting a job is hard to do when your GPA makes you look like an idiot.

    我觉得这里的教授都不大在乎他们的学生学得怎么样，当然他们也都希望学生学会课程的内容，然而他们却不是特别愿意课后帮助学生。对于他们来说，C也是可以给一个努力的学生的成绩，毕竟这也是“过了”。他们没有意识到的是学生之所以来这里上学是为了将来能找到一份更好的工作，然而当一个人的GPA看起来很难看，工作就没有那么好找了。

    You will learn so much by coming to CMU. You will leave knowing that your time here was worth it, no matter what your GPA is, and no matter what opportunities you are offered after.

    在这里你可以学到很多，当你毕业的时候，你会觉得在这里付出的努力都是值得的，不论最终你的GPA是什么样子，也不论你最后能得到怎样的未来机会。

    The professors are all great and very qualified. Registration process can be a bit stressful because you're randomly assigned a time to register and waitlists suck, but people forget to use their academic advisers and they are incredibly helpful. Workload gets very heavy so time management is crucial. The first few weeks of classes are light then midterm season hits and it doesn't really end until finals. Most people study in Hunt or Wean library, and the school just put up some new study spaces in the university extension. Other students study in empty classrooms, which I like. I prefer to have more private rooms (because classrooms are taken during the day), but the school doesn't have many of those.

    我觉得这里的教授都很棒。虽然选课过程比较让人烦恼，因为你会随机被分配可以选课的时间，而且有时只能waitlist你想选的课，不过学校的学术指导还是会提供很多帮助的。课程的确会很繁重，所以管理好时间非常重要。一开学的前几周课业还不是很重，但是之后连环的midterm就会向你袭来，直到final。大部分人会选择在Hunt和Wean两个图书馆学习，学校也在扩充建设更多可以自习的地方。我比较喜欢在空教室里学习，这样会有一个比较私人的学习空间，但是学校里并没有很多可以自习的空教室。

    Campus 校园

    CMU is a very unique place. There are numerous places to study (as so many CMU students spend the majority of their time doing just that), but the cold can discourage many from venturing anywhere but the closest places. The athletic facilities are Ok, the library is really only used to studying, and its really difficult to get a seat at most places around lunchtime in the UC

    这里的校园十分特别。这里有很多可以自习的地方（毕竟这里的学生大部分时间都在学习），但是冬天的时候寒冷的天气会让大家只愿意去离自己最近的自习室学习。体育运动设施还不错。图书馆真的只是用来自习的，而且在中午的时候很难找到空位置。

    Pittsburgh is a great college town. There's shopping, dining, recreation, parks, etc... but the weather usually shuts down most people's travel plans due to the sheer miserable-ness of getting anywhere. Anything you need to buy is easily within range, and there's pretty much something for everyone if you take time off studying and go explore!

    匹兹堡是一座很棒的大学城，这里有购物，吃饭，娱乐的地方，还有公园等等，但是冬天的天气会让大家都不愿意出门。不过所有你需要买的东西都近在咫尺，而且在这里任何人都能找到适合自己的餐厅或者娱乐活动，只要你课余多多探索。

    I often like to go out to explore Pittsburgh, which is a beautiful city, with my friends and you get to know the place better and experience what life really is like for a college student. It's not too urban like downtown, but not too suburban. It is a very college town since many of our neighbors are other universities.

    我平常挺喜欢去匹兹堡城里玩的，这是一个很漂亮的城市，和朋友一起去玩能更好的了解这个城市，也能收获一个大学生应有的生活体验。这里没有大都市那样繁华，也没有城郊那样简单，这里也有很多大学，真的称得上是一座大学城了。
